Sometimes you just can’t focus on your goals, in fact you don’t feel like doing anything. The feeling comes from various places in past and present life experiences. Could be depression, being overwhelmed with life, exhausted with everything you do, anxiety, or feelings of being stuck in a rut.

Looking forward to the possibilities

Physical and mental stresses combine to put you in this state which if unchecked could last for days, weeks, months and dare I say years. The key here is doing everything you can to remember your why’s. Why you are fighting in the first place to achieve your dreams. What is driving you to complete these goals. Where were you last year that you made a decision not to be there again this year. So getting out of this mode starts with your thinking. Your own thoughts will be some of the hardest battles you fight. The battles with yourself are the keys for moving forward.

Think about your why
Think about your why’s behind trying to achieve this goal.

First step

So the first step is attacking your mental. You have to change your thinking in this moment. That starts with calling out WHY you started this journey in the first place. Why is so important to you?  Why do you need to do this? Why must things change in your life? What happens if you stop here? What happens if you give up? Where will you be if you give up? Is this where you want to be? Changing your mental state is followed by action.

Celebrate You
Don’t forget to celebrate you.

Step two

Give yourself permission to be happy. Celebrate coming out of that funk and the accomplishments you’ve already achieved. Be grateful for the other blessings that come your way big and small. Recognize each and every one of those blessings. Be grateful for even the tiniest victories and blessings. It’s completely ok to go and talk to someone. Just like you would go to the gym to work on your physical body. It’s ok to go to a mental health professional to work on your mental well being. It was truly one of the keys to saving me.

Step Three

Keep repeating steps one and two the rest of the day.

Step Four

Put some type of action into place immediately. Start off with one thing just do one thing based around your goals. Pick something you can accomplish within the day. When you complete this task, the endorphin release will set your mind up for success. Changing the mood you’re in putting you in a more positive thought process.
